Rd 11 Day 13 ~ Turkey Time

I statred a tradition with our Girl Scouts about 10 years ago. We collect food and make Thanksgiving baskets for families in need in our community. Although I am not running the event this year it is still going strong.Well someone called to find out if we still needed turkeys and so I said yes of course! and I took the time to go to their house and collect the turkey and a box of food for the scouts. I am storing the turkey till Tuseday when they will be putting the baskets together.

Rd 11 Day 12~ Little Surpises

I had a Chiropractic and massage appointment tonight and before i left the massage room I left a rock that i painted that said Kindness Rocks on it with a 29 gifts tag for my massage therapist to find. I also set a bookmark and tag on the purse of a lady in the waiting room without her seeing me do it. I love fun gives like this.

Rd 11 Day 11~ A receive turns into a give.

I awoke this morning to a the phone ringing and a little voice (my niece) on the other end inviting me to have breakfast. So I accepted of course what could be better than breakfast with my two favorite little ones(my niece and nephew)! before I got into the shower my brother called back and asked if I could pick up a gallon of milk and the newspaper on my way down to their house. SO there was my give handed to me on a breakfast plate!

Thank you so very much Stacey. I am delighted to be a part of the 29 days of giving. I began this morning, by surprising my cousin and her son with groceries. I have another promise to fulfill this afternoon. I am glad that this site, encourages others to be compassionate and to give to others. What a blessing to all.

Thank you Stacey. To add one important note. Dad had a tough night when he was at the hospital and as I massaged his neck and back sobbing, annointing him with my tears.
He said "Son, this is life". I took that profound statement and shared it with my wonderful friend who has a great walk with the Lord. Dave listened to me and then said 'that is you dad saying I'm okay, all is well, all is well'. I've shared that with all my direct family and all friends who called the house to check on dad. It has become my spiritual and emotional bedrock. Otherwise I'd probably be a blubbering idiot! Thanks again for your kind words. With much love and appreciation-Peter

Hey Stacey, I have been making this soup with organic pumpkin, onion, apples, and chicken broth at the end some yogurt instead of sour cream and sometimes I throw in chicken too, and some spices of course.

What a gorgeous picture! Your story reminds me I need to keep a sense of humor when dealing with my own teenagers. It's a roller coaster of emotions when dealing with teens. I guess all you can do is hold on tight and try to enjoy the ride!
