Why I'm choosing to give:
Because it's important and it feels good too. Giving is what makes us humans human. As bad as it sometimes is, we have choice...

" You don't have to signal a social conscience by looking like a frump. Lace knickers won't hasten the holocaust, you can ban the bomb in a feather boa, just as well without, and a mild interest in hemlines doesn't necessarily disqualify you from reading DAS KAPITAL and agreeing with every word" -- Jill Tweedie--
What I'd most like to receive:
Everything I want!!!!

About me:
I live in Brussels, Belgium... that dreary, rainy, windy little patch of land stuck in between France, the Netherlands, Germany and Luxembourg. I live with my two cats, Reggie and Emma, in a lovely apartment in a rather quaint neighborhood, but I like it a lot. I am a receptionist at a law firm and a freelance translator.

Forgiveness and gratitude

I just wanted to mention that - some of you will have read my early posts and remember the situation - I have forgiven my ex-boyfriend and we can now actually get along. Also, the universe has given me such a great present... my aunt, who lent me the money to pay him off, has waved my debt.

I have started the new year on a very positive note and I thank the universe every day for my blessings...

I have incredible friends with whom I share what I am learning on life's journey. Like most people… Continue

Erm... I'm back... May I?

I'd like to apologize but I know that it originates in a feeling of guilt, so there is no point. Nonetheless, I do apologize for being so absent for what?... a few months...

I've been on a serious self exploratory adventure which came to a sort of a climax the weekend of 26 and 27 December. I did a Vision Board workshop and was once again face to face with the effects of giving and receiving.
My Vision Board is gorgeous and represents what I profoundly WANT and NEED in order to fulfill my place… Continue

Finally time to sit down and update... Phew!

I got a phone call on Wednesday evening from my friend C, who has recently moved back to London, after 8 years in Brussels. The reason he moved back is because he needs his family as he was diagnosed as being bipolar. He was trained as a dancer and what a dancer!!! Incredibly talented. I have a funny feeling that's all over now though. Since he started having, let's call them, his funny episodes, he's been in hospital a few times for several weeks on end. Unfortunately he didn't get very good fo… Continue

It's a beautiful Friday!!

Below is my DailyOm Horoscope for today.

Flourishing Abundance

Cancer Daily Horoscope

A feeling of abundance today can help you to recognize the success you’ve achieved. Seeing this, your confidence may increase, urging you to put new plans into action. In your mind’s eye, you may envision your future plans flourishing and bringing their rewards into all areas of your life. Even when we’re not feeling particularly abundant, we can more easily see how much we have to be thankful for if we can… Continue

Off track...

Here we go again... I wonder if I can permit myself to whinge and whine for a moment... If it isn't allowed just feel free to skip this entry alltogether... at least, I'm getting it off my chest.
Things are so hard right now. As some of you know, I have been alone in my apartment for two months now, since I decided I couldn't handle living in a crap relationship anymore. He claimed I would never be able to afford the apartment by myself (I know that was just a sly ruse to try and stick around) a… Continue

Hey Tania~~Just another confirmation that God's got your back. You're near a natural reserve in Bruxelles! How off the chain is that? I will be on the lookout for your shroom series.

well.... it was worth it just for the thought of a big sloppy kiss! hahaha. i'm glad if the situation is in hand. i will have to figure out another day 6 give. i am really trying to avoid money gives, but yours seemed like a must. i would rather donate my time and energy to a shelter than money. i will find a good one here in chi-town and do just that in yr honor. but please, if things do not work out and you get desperate... the offer still stands. do not hesitate to take me up on it. it would make me happy to do it.

Hey Tania~~
I lived in Bruxelles for 1 year as a child; I even attended school.
I loved your pics; I thought the 'shrooms were my favorite, until I saw the 2 cat people. What gorgeous eyes they both have! That mackerel tabby is gorgeous, as is the part-color baby. Thanks for sharing.

Thanks Kirsten. That all sounds pretty common-sensical (does that word exist?). I already about 2 litres of water a day, but you're right about caffeine. Every time I have a cup, I feel like having a cigarette too. They somehow go hand in hand. I already do Pilates but that isn't particularly aerobic, I know...

My best recommendation to you about smoking is don't go cold turkey! Say if you currently smoke a pack a day try stretching out that pack over 2-3 days. If that goes well then try cutting back a bit more. Ration your cigarettes to a specific number per day so that when they're gone they're gone until the next day. Be sure to get a good nights sleep, cut back on caffeine and eat healthy meals and snacks. As you start to limit your cigarettes begin some form of aerobic exercise. Something that is fun or that you enjoyed doing as a kid, like dancing, skating or playing basketball. Find a workout buddy to help positively reinforce this new habit. Drink plenty of water. Gradually increase the amount of time you exercise. This will make you sleep better, eat better and feel better.
