Giving so far

I don't know how consistent I have been with this giving business. Aside from a general lack of online access, I also have been doing more "consumer" giving - you "give" by buying something for a good cause. So this includes a Big Issue and a dress from an Op Shop.

I've given coins (for cancer research), a book voucher (for a friend's birthday), and my time at a conference (though that's more serving me really :P). There was probably more but I can't remember them now.

Day 1: A Bookmooch book, and some books to uni

I'm not entirely sure if this counts, as I did this (and had this planned) before I signed on to the Giving Challenge.

But today I sent out a book, Coming To Our Senses, to a member of Bookmooch who had requested it from my catalog. (I'm divabat on there - add me!)

I also had some books to sell through the university guild's second hand bookshop (you consign the books, they give you a receipt, and when the books sell you get paid). However, some books… Continue

Welcome. Thanks for saying YES to the challenge.

Enjoy your 29 days of giving and don't forget to share some stories to help inspire others. Click here if you need help posting stories in your Personal Giving Blog.

PLEASE HELP US GROW: Our collective goal is to revive the giving spirit in the world by inspiring 20,000 people to give at least 29 Gifts to others. Please help spread the word. Here is an email invitation you can send to friends.

CAUSE OF THE MONTH: This month we're supporting fellow 29Giver and breast cancer survivor, Elysia Skye. Elysia really needs our help to raise funds for a surgery her insurance won't cover. Read Elysia's story here. Donate to her surgery fund today if you can and please spread the word about her cause to anyone you think might help.

Good giving!

P.S. Don't miss our cool downloadable gift card and handy 29-Day Giving Calendar, which helps you keep track of your gifts.

P.P.S. The 29 Gifts book is now officially in the works and we're looking for 29 amazing giving stories from community members to include. Click here for details on how to submit one of your stories for publication.

Tiara,
A great big Hey from Woodstock, Ga, USA! I am so happy we have so many givers from all over the world! Thanks for joining at such an exciting time! I am on the 16th day for the 5th round of 29 days. I hope you have the wonderful experience here that I have!
Let me know if you need any help! We did a "give" in Atlanta a month ago and gave away 100 roses on the sidewalk, it was 9 members from the metro ATL area, we started a "local" group, and you can start one too!
Make friends, read blogs, write blogs and leave other folks comments! Post pics and videos, join inner groups and GIVE! Have fun and watch for miracles to happen in your life when you do 29 in 29!
