Day 9- I made banana cupcakes for my friend liz who has just returned from Spain after a year. They had spanish phrases written on them in gel icing. Day 5- I did several small actions. Bought my dad his favorite candy bar, as a kind of white flag (obviously I had apologized as well) after a fight we had. He was surprised and thanked me. Also helped a friend through some man trouble and later that night sent her a nice and funny ecard to make her feel better. Maybe it is because today is all about America that I missed Vietnam even more (I got back from 3.5 months of studying abroad there in late May). So a dose of culture shock coupled with several personal struggles that have taken hold put me in a notably bad mood. I volunteered to help out at a crafts fair for my internship from 11am-3pm, bought a coin purse and a pair of gorgeous earrings that help to educate children in Uganda and help their mothers run their own businesses.I was pretty exhausted after that, so I hate to say it was kind of a bad day for giving.
