Question about donating handmade scarves and hats

I support a cause known as Knit-a-Square. Their website http://www.knit-a-square.com/ has a wealth of information on it. This is a South African organisation helping children affected by HIV/AIDS.

I thought it would be nice to create a group in which we could work together to help out children. You don't have to be from TN to join this group.

Day 29 End of Round 1 Thank you

Wow I can't believe I have finished my first round already. I am so grateful for the wonderful people I have met on this site. They have opened my eyes to even more of what is going on in the world and what so many of you are bearing on a daily basis. Everyone has problems somewhere in their lives but I must say that I am very grateful for mine. They are pretty simple in comparison. I take my hat off to all of you out there for what you are going through. Here is wishing you all strength on your… Continue

Day 28 Just listening

Today was a day of giving my time to listen. A friend phoned this morning just to talk about the things that are bothering her - her computer broke AGAIN and the woes her daughter is having. She just needed to offloadher worries and I am glad I was here to listen. She sounded much more cheerful at the end of the call and it made me count my blessings.

I also spent some time chatting to my neighbour and listening about her problems as work. She is a single mum so doesn't have a husband to share… Continue

Day 27 Pancakes and cuddles

Quiet day for giving today. Very busy with work and didn't go out at all. My sister popped by and I was able to give her some advice (asked for) on some crocheting she was wanting to do. Also listened while she offloaded about what was worrying her.

This evening our daughter phoned and asked if I would babysit tonight so she and her husband can go out for supper with some overseas visitors who have arrived to stay with them. Of course I said yes - big receive for me of cuddles and time spent wi… Continue

Day 26

Today I went with my husband to pay accounts and to do a bit of Christmas shopping. Bought a big tin of cat food to put in the SPCA collection box outside the supermarket. I also split all my coin change between the lovely elderly lady, who reminds me so much of my late aunt, who was collecting for the Aged and the wonderful busker who always plays such cheerful music outside the supermarket.
That's been it for today.
Smiles and goodnight
Ann

Support our Cause of the Month
In November, we're sponsoring a cause that has been started by fellow giver, Lubabat. We are so deeply touched and impressed by Lubabat's strength of character & spirit. Lubabat was diagnosed with MS in the mid 90s and then in August of 09, she was diagnosed with stage 4 metastatic breast cancer. Her reaction has been so inspirational - she is thriving through giving. She is hosting a Christmas Give and her theme is "going small to make a big impact" We have named her our November Cause of the Month and would be grateful for your support!

Happy giving!

P.S. Don't miss our handy 29-Day Giving Calendar or our cute Gift Note to accompany your gifts.
