I work in a fairly large office complex for a very large hospital.  Two friends of mine have small businesses and it is difficult for them to get the word out about what they do.  I decided for my gift today, I would post fliers on our bulletin board and pass out their cards to people who I think would like their product.  It's a simple act on my part that may turn into quite a bit of new business for my friends. Sometimes charity does begin at home.  My gift for today was some cash to my daughter so she could go out and get some essentials for our upcoming trip to a family reunion.  Nothing too creative but it fills the bill!

Mother's day provided me the opportunity to send a number of e-cards to friends who are mothers.  Also gave my daughter a card filled with pictures of her son on behalf of my 19 month old grandson.  In addition, I donated two wooden mirrors I decorated to a silent auction to benefit the local school district's children's fund.  Money raised allows teachers to purchase items needed for children in their classes when they see a need.  Some day's it's just too easy meet my giving commitment!

Lots of gifting opportunity today.  Went to the farmers market with my grandson and daughter.  Since she is a single, stay at home mom, she qualifys for food stamps and a big benefit of our farmer's market is that every Saturday they match $10 in food stamps with $10 in farmer's bucks so she had $20 to spend on good, healthy food.  I look upon that as a gift to all of us.  While there I showed my 19 month old grandson how to show your appreciation to the street musicians he was rocking out to… Continue
