Day 4- Inspired by my 6 year old!

Day 4 was a tough day for me. I really didn't know what to do for a gift yesterday. I started feeling as though I HAD to give instead of being excited and wanting to give. I went to the Hallmark store thinking I would buy a "just because" card for a friend. But I became resentful while I was browsing through the cards. This wasn't the way I imagined feeling about giving. And giving a gift because I feel like I have to isn't the way this is supposed to be. I left the store feeling defeated.…See More

Day 1- Cooking for my husband!!

My husband is the most amazing cook. He can go to cabinets and a fridge, filled with next to nothing, and whip up an incredible meal. The first time he met my grandparents, my grandmother was horrified to discover that he did all the cooking. This was coming from a woman who spent 2 weeks preparing for Christmas dinner!! But I'm just not a comfortable cook. I can make the most basic of things and have 2 signature recipes that my husband loves (one being macaroni and cheese and the other egg…See More

Profile Information

Why I'm choosing to give:
My brother in law has MS and I read Cami's book to have a better understanding of what he and his family go through each day. The book really opened my eyes, not only MS, but also to how much little gestures can change the attitude of so many people. I would like to help make that change in the world.
What I'd most like to receive:
A better understanding of myself. My life has had so many changes recently and I struggle each day to figure out where I fit in and who I am.
How did you hear about the 29-Day Giving Challenge?
I read Cami's book
About me:
I am a 33 year old wife and the mom of 2 amazing boys. I'm a full time stay at home mom and a part time social worker.

Thank you so much to everyone that has taken the time to welcome me!!! It means so much!!! And thank you for reading and commenting on my posts! It's really been keeping me motivated to keep giving and telling the stories about the gifts! Thanks again!!!

One of my favorite authors is Emily Giffin. A few weeks ago I requested her newest book from the library. There were a few people on the list ahead of me so I just had to patiently wait. On Tuesday the library called. The book was… Continue

Day 2- A gift for Maddy

My brother in law has MS. It is the main reason why I chose to read the book "29 Gifts." I never expected the book to touch me on such a personal level.

My brother in law is married to my husband's sister. They are both alcoholics with 2 young children. This is a really difficult topic within my husband's family. My brother in law is an extremely intelligent man. Prior to his MS getting significantly worse, he wrote computer programs for General Dynamics. One day he had "an episode"… Continue
