This weekend was filled with family activites a graduation party for my cousin. We traveled two hours to see her and wish her well. Work continues to be stressful so the best I could do yesterday was give to my son.

I love to read and I try to read to my son every night but he does not always let me. He is a very wiggly 17 month old. Last night I held him in my arms and read book after book to him before bedtime and sang nursey rhymes to him. Maybe to some parents this is the norm but my son does not often sit still for more than a minute. He inherited my husband's high energy and my dad's unflappable spirit.…

Simple gifts were the theme for the past two days. I am still struggling with financial insecurity in my work life and feel like I don't have any easy solutions. The more stressed out I am about my problems these days that it becomes even more important to focus on the giving because it's draws me back into life.
