Day 65 - March 6th - Hotdogs for Dinner (R3 D6)

There is something in me that does not want to admit defeat on a night when I have just been too busy to plan dinner. On the way home from school, I asked my 6-year-old what he wanted for dinner. He proclaimed hotdogs the victor. My husband is also a big fan of hotdogs, so we all had hotdogs and chips. It wasn't the healthiest dinner, but it made everyone happy, so that was a gift to them.If was also, in a way, a gift for me because I didn't have to cook.See More

Day 49 - February 18th - Mommy Cuddles (R2 D19)

Well, yesterday's day of rest ended at the urgent care due to a bug bite on baby Alex's leg getting infected. Urgent care said it was definitely infected and needed antibiotics and that he also had ear infection in both ears which explains his reluctance to nap yesterday. Although my husband was already taking today off to stay with Jack, I decided that dealing with a 6-year-old and a sick baby might be too much for anyone. Day 29 - January 29th - Round 1 Thoughts

As I finish my first 29 days of the year of giving, I found it difficult to find something to give yesterday. In reflection, I gave several gifts yesterday, although many of them were more for myself than anyone else. On my lunch break I decided to go for a run. This was a gift for many people. We had to take Gusto back to the vet today for a checkup and got the bad news that he is considered "hospice" at this point due to his kidney disease. I worked from home today because I wanted to see if he was eating and drinking normally. There isn't any change to his condition, but he certainly won't get any better from here. I was tired when I picked the boys up today. Mondays have been especially difficult the past few months due to some staff shortages, so I'm really done by the end of the day. I picked up the boys and immediately heard from Jack how we had not gone to 7-Eleven on Friday to get Slurpees. I reminded him that we actually went to Toys R Us on Friday and he got a toy to celebrate his report card. Today we went over to my sister-in-law's to celebrate her birthday (along with my husband, her twin's). We brought some vegetables (because my husband and I are dieting) and a giftcard for my SIL. We brought the dog and had a nice day with the family.

On my way in to the grocery store, I noticed a man collecting money for a veteran's organization. When I finished my shopping, I got $10 cash back and dropped it in the collection box on my way out.
