I still contend that Sunday's are the easiest days to give so far. At church just a little extra in the offering plate goes to help our "1's for the many campaign", helping those that come in our door every day needing some assistance. This aftern...

Profile Information

Why I'm choosing to give:
I'm thankful for all I receive, but still have difficulty receiving. I've always thought of myself as a giving person, but I want to put a more conscious thought to my giving and be open to see all the ways I can give of myself, not only monetarily.
What I'd most like to receive:
peace

Day 18, November 22, 2009

I still contend that Sunday's are the easiest days to give so far. At church just a little extra in the offering plate goes to help our "1's for the many campaign", helping those that come in our door every day needing some assistance. This afternoon I helped my college daughter out by baking a dish for her to take to a pot luck at school tonight - she could have made it, but it's a hassle with all of the ingredients and getting her turn in the dorm kitchen. She got her hair highlighted and cut… Continue

Day 17, November 21, 2009

My husband was coming home today from a week long business trip and I had planned all week to get a surprise done for him. Many of us have exercise equipment that does a great imitation of a clothes rank in our rooms, right? Well, Scott has really been anxious to start using his Bow Flex again and it has been covered, as well as the whole corner of the room where it's been residing! I rolled up my sleeves first thing this morning and go busy cleaning a clearing that area so that when he got home… Continue

Day 16, November 20, 2009

We are headed down to Texas for Thanksgiving next week at my in-laws home. My mother-in-law has still been feeling pretty bad, but insists we come anyway. I have told her repeatedly that she shouldn't lift a finger, we can take care of anything and everything and she did finally say that she bought a new robe and couple of gowns so she'd just lie around on the couch. I sincerely doubt that will happen, but I did decide to come up with some ways to keep the grandkids all occupied and out from bei… Continue

Day 15, Novemeber 19, 2009

I really should have started my 29 day's on the first - my mismatched numbers are throwing me off, ha ha.

Today I did a lot of work around my house, but did take the time this afternoon to get my girls hair cut and mine done as well. While I was at my friends home, she is our hairdresser, her mom was visiting and not feeling well so Suzy felt bad about being away from her mom so much to do her clients hair. I went in and visited with her mom for quite awhile so Suzy could relax and tend to her… Continue

Welcome! I hope you get as much out of this journey as I have. There are so many amazing stories about giving! My life is much happier by giving and being a part of this! There are many ideas of ways to give on this site that don't involve money. People are so creative! Peace, Cathy

Help Us Grow: Please help spread the word. We're striving to reach our goal of 29,000 committed givers, and you can help: Send this Invitation to friends, write about the challenge and include a badge or our video on your website, blog, facebook, or myspace page.

The book 29 Gifts: How a Month of Giving Can Change Your Life - authored by 29 Gifts founder Cami Walker is now in stores. You can also buy through Amazon.

Support our Cause of the Month
In November, we're sponsoring a cause that has been started by fellow giver, Lubabat. We are so deeply touched and impressed by Lubabat's strength of character & spirit. Lubabat was diagnosed with MS in the mid 90s and then in August of 09, she was diagnosed with stage 4 metastatic breast cancer. Her reaction has been so inspirational - she is thriving through giving. She is hosting a Christmas Give and her theme is "going small to make a big impact" We have named her our November Cause of the Month and would be grateful for your support!

Happy giving!

P.S. Don't miss our handy 29-Day Giving Calendar or our cute Gift Note to accompany your gifts.
