So sorry Kelly, it took me a while, it's been a busy day! Here's the recipe, a slight modification on the Mulligatawny soup that's popular. Boil 3 cups of water in a saucepan, and add a few cherry tomatoes or one medium tomato chopped. In a smal...

I made a pop-up card for a friend who is working hard. He sounded tired and I thought of sending him a "hug" - a pop-up hug. So looked up on how-to make one and made it, while sitting at work. It's quite easy! I sent it out, but it will reach only...

day 5 and day 6

Yesterday was a very busy day and I was going about my business and didn't realize up until late afternoon that I did not consciously do anything close to gifting. However, during our late afternoon Optimist club meeting, I offered to click pictures for the President and helped pack the chairs and clean up at the end. It was getting late and we had an end to end day, but a few extra minutes wouldn't have hurt.

I shared my soymilk with a colleague and offered to stay back a couple of hours at wo… Continue

day 4 - food!

My little munchkin was meeting her friends for lunch and we decided that she'd make a bracelet for each. So along witha little help stringing, she chose the pattern of the colored wooden beads, and spelt out their names and arranged them neatly for me to string it for her. Then with great pride she gave it to them both and they weren't that thrilled, but the moms were. At least my little one seemed happy. :)
Here's hers.

Day 3 - Stew

So I made this spicy Hot pepper/garlic stew (Indian soup/stew) specially good for during the cold weather and to clear the passages during a cold. Thought I'd take it out to the colleague as she lives alone and when one is sick, despite knowing how to make a meal, it's always nice to have someone else bring it to you.

Though, apparently she felt better so she came in to work!
She was surprised and did take it home however.

Following a post here on involving the kids, I got my 5 year old to mak… Continue

day 2 - soup

I made a pop-up card for a friend who is working hard. He sounded tired and I thought of sending him a "hug" - a pop-up hug. So looked up on how-to make one and made it, while sitting at work. It's quite easy! I sent it out, but it will reach on Monday.
Wish I'd taken a picture of it, it did turn out cute!

A team member is out sick and she lives alone. So thought I'd take her some soup today at lunch.
Edited to add: I did and she really was taken by surprise. A hot soup on a bleary cloudy rainy… Continue

Welcome to 29 Gifts! I'm so glad you decided to join us.

Enjoy your 29 Days and don't forget to share some stories to help inspire others. If you need help posting in your Personal Giving Blog, follow these directions.

Help Us Grow: Please help spread the word. We're striving to reach our goal of 29,000 committed givers, and you can help: Send this Invitation to friends, write about the challenge and include a badge or our video on your website, blog, facebook, or myspace page.

The book 29 Gifts: How a Month of Giving Can Change Your Life - authored by 29 Gifts founder Cami Walker is now in stores. You can also buy through Amazon.

Support our Cause of the Month
In November, we're sponsoring a cause that has been started by fellow giver, Lubabat. We are so deeply touched and impressed by Lubabat's strength of character & spirit. Lubabat was diagnosed with MS in the mid 90s and then in August of 09, she was diagnosed with stage 4 metastatic breast cancer. Her reaction has been so inspirational - she is thriving through giving. She is hosting a Christmas Give and her theme is "going small to make a big impact" We have named her our November Cause of the Month and would be grateful for your support!

Happy giving!

P.S. Don't miss our handy 29-Day Giving Calendar or our cute Gift Note to accompany your gifts.

What a gorgeous picture! Your story reminds me I need to keep a sense of humor when dealing with my own teenagers. It's a roller coaster of emotions when dealing with teens. I guess all you can do is hold on tight and try to enjoy the ride!
