I have NO idea where I am on this round. The whirlwind trip with my grandson was beyond what mere words can describe. I apparently really did have TOO much fun, 'cause I came home sick. Then, Sunday evening was the absolutely perfect memorial service for my brother.
I still don't feel well, but at least, I think I can spend a little time today catching up on blog posts here. I'm not sure when I'll get back into anything like a 'normal' routine.

Giving lately has been a lot about sharing stories and photos-and songs- by e-mail with distant friends and relatives who have not been around my brother much in many years. Of course, I give my support in what ever way I can to his son, Paul and Paul’s mother. Paul’s mom and my brother had remained extremely close for 40 years even tho they were divorced many, many years ago. She is hurting so much over this loss of a special, precious friend.

I’ve totally lost count of which day I’m on.
First, I want to thank all of you for your sweet responses to my post about my brother.
It is an amazing and wonderful phenomenon, these internet ‘friendships’ which are such great blessings. As you would imagine, most of my gives over the last few days have had to do with informing friends and family members and sharing comfort and support with one another.

My brother died this morning.
I have been waiting for this particular shoe to drop for so many years, I can’t even tell you. He had severe juvenile diabetes…and he was a chain-smoking alcoholic. He was supposed to die before his 50th birthday, according to all the medical wisdom back in the 60’s, when he was diagnosed. He had his 62nd birthday last month.
My brother was a talented writer of poetry. He had a beautiful singing voice. He loved photography and had a natural… Continue
