day 8 (x3) love notes to the kiddos....
during the week, i get home from work when my kids are in bed for the night. it's not unusual for me to come home to find a handmade card from one (or all) of my kids sitting on my computer keyboard ... usually in the shape of the heart with "i love you, mom!" scrawled in crayon. it makes my evening when it happens. they're always so proud the next morning when i tell them i got the card(s) and thank them for the sentiments. today, while they were in school, i cut my own construction paper heart… Continue

day 7 (x3) missing my beauty sleep.....
i love sleep. no, no ... i LOVE sleep. i take a nap every day with my 2yo son. every. day. on sundays, i work from 6a-2p, so i especially look forward to my nap on sundays. on this particular sunday, i was especially tired. i had gone to "white christmas" the night before with my husband's family. we didn't get home until after midnight, and i didn't get in bed until closer to 1am. i started thinking about my afternoon nap when my alarm went off at 4:30am .....

days 4, 5, 6 (x3) dog day, baby formula, white christmas
day 4: we have a vizsla named cooper. he's a great dog, but a bit, um, energetic. i often find myself annoyed with him because he's so often underfoot when i'm trying to, well, do anything. he's quite the attention hog. today was beautiful, so i took him outside and played fetch with the tennis ball for longer than usual. later in the evening, i loaded him in the car and took him to petco with me to buy his supply of food and treats. i usually don't take him ... it's easier to accomplish the tas… Continue

day 3 (x3) the wallet in the road....
last night i took my friend's daughter to a performance of the so you think you can dance tour. the stipulation for me taking her daughter was that she would have to drive us to the venue and pick us up. i hate driving downtown and didn't want to fight for parking. when she picked us up after the show she told us she had driven over what she thought was a wallet in the middle of the road. as we approached where she thought it was, sure enough, there was indeed a wallet laying in the middl… Continue

goodness me, today was easy! i almost feel guilty claiming it. =\ several months ago, a friend of mine had graciously volunteered to watch my 3 children so i could join my husband in vegas for a friend's wedding. i was ecstatic at the time and immediately took her up on the offer. taking in three rambunctious boys is no small feat. i know that ... i live with them. so, i started looking for ways i could return the favor without actually paying her for "babysitting."
