When someone comments on something during conversation, I love to secretly file it away to use as a give later.  Sometimes I'm not even aware that I'm filing it away for later ... Today I gave two older ladies at church today a Biofreeze wipe for aches and pains. Also taught the 12 yr olds class for someone who had forgot to get a sub.

yesterday, i received an e-mail from the rescue group that took care of my ophelia after she was rescued from the puppy mill.  they have many more dogs than usual (with more waiting in shelters to enter the program) and need financial assistance for medical care.  sent some funds from ophelia.  they placed more than 600 dogs last year into forever homes, including one happy little white pomeranian.

Today I gave my friend and neighbor The Read Aloud Handbook by Jim Trelease.  I love this book!  It is all about why reading aloud to your kids is great and the second half is a ton of book suggestions with short summaries and age appropriateness.  This book changed my life and I give it out all the time.  At book club last week, this friend asked me a question about reading aloud to my kids so I bought her a copy and left it wrapped on her porch today.

I live in the suburbs of Chicago.  Randomly I see homeless people on the streets, but nothing in comparison to downtown Chicago.  Today I saw one of those random people.  I immediately reached into the spot in my car where I keep my change & grabbed every cent of it.  We waved the man over & gave him the change.  It wasn't much..but he seemed so grateful for it all.  Before reading this book, I can honestly say that I wouldn't have thought twice about this man.  My eyes are way more…

Taking a piece from Cami's book, today I brought a cute little plant to work.  I saw these Easter lilies at the store & thought it would brighten up the front part of the office.  First one bud was open.  Now 2!  It makes me smile when I walk in & see it. This gift will give for more that just a day actually.   I hope other people are enjoying it also.  

Today I listened to a friend & a few issues she is dealing with right now.  I always listen to my friends.  But today I made an extra effort.  And let her know that I would think about her, keep her in my thoughts & hope for positive news from her in the future.  I know that having people really listen & understand you is key to friendships.  Hopefully today helped my friend in more than one way!  

My friend and co-worker M is going through a tough time at work due to various circumstances.  One of those things where she works very hard and not only does it go unappreciated, but she's also getting some flak right now.  She had a lot to do today and several people to supervise.  She gave me several tasks to do which took up all my time there today.  I got them all done without needing to interrupt her.  She was very grateful.
