Day 13: Another prayer.

It was bit a tough day for me. I learned that one of my late boyfriend's co-workers was laid off from his law firm. How hard it must be for him... thinking of the hard study to become a lawyer and very long work hours he spent in practice. I actually cried a little not bing able to tell anything to comfort him (I don't know him directly... and I heard the news from our mutual friends) , but I prayed for him that he could regain his strength to get through this difficult time, and to find…

Day 12: Dinner

I was bit tired from the previous day trip, I stayed home most of Sunday. I didn't have much opportunity to practice giving, I finally prepared dinner for my family. Noting really special...but all home made, made from a scratch... hoping the food provide enough energy to go through the comming week.

Day 8 - Cycle 6

Today was a gift to myself as I simply rested and laid around all day long. My biggest gift was to pick up my daughter instead of expecting for her dad to drop her off like usual. It was a gift to me and to him. I got to watch my favorite show of all time in a marathon today. It has some of my favorite episodes on from the last season. I am glad they have found a new network and can expect some new shows this season. I have been writing and have some ideas that I am hoping will pan out into… Continue

Day 11: Aquarium

Not being able to keep our little nephew and niece's energy within our house, we went to an aquarium last Saturday. It was bit far, but we enjoyed the whole trip including 1.5hours train ride. Kids loved seeing many sea

animals and fishes, and typically enjoyed the opportunity to touch dolfins. Seeing fishes was very soothing and relaxing for me too. We then had a dinner at China town, which was the first time experence for…

Thirteen Gifts

Now we are at Monday! Woot! So, yesterday was pretty cool. I found out that one of the girls at work was going to have a birthday Firday. I bought her a few presents consisting of some candy, a funny card, and a cool pen. I don't really know what she likes and I haven't been able to give it to her yet. I'm pretty sure she'll enjoy it though. I get to give it to her Wednesday.

Twelve Runs

Sunday was pretty interesting. I had work which wasn’t too interesting but it was very busy. After work I got to hang out with my friends Marcie, David, and Tara. It was pretty cool to just sit and chill for a few hours. After… Continue

Eleven Fixed Memories

Goodness glaciers! I have three posts to make up for you guys! Sorry! Okay so...three days ago was a Saturday. Okay, I remember now! Saturday I was supposed to hang out with a group of my friends. iw as really excited but it started pouring! I was very disappointed because when it storms in Florida, it sotrms really hard. The tread on my tires is wearing thin (time for new tires!) and I didn't want to risk it. Turns out this was a good thing though. My dad isn't usually home during the weekends… Continue

Starting Over....Again

Err...It's been almost a year since I was here...and even then, it was to apologize for being gone so long. I don't know why I haven't been here. I love the cause and I love the people I've met. I suppose I just got busy with life. I assure you all that I've spent the last year trying to be a good person and give gifts whenever I can...sometimes I've succeeded, sometimes I've failed.

A few minutes ago, I got a message saying that Sharon has left a comment on my wall. She was…

Day 1- walking the Dog

I decided that my first gift would be to my dog. I don't walk her enough as I am so busy with life in general. So I took some time this morning with my little boy and my dog and took her into the woods past some streams and a lake. Together we all soaked up the sunshine, the quiet, the breeze though the trees and the stillness that comes from just being in nature. Then on the way home in the car my dog sat in the back next to my son as I gave her head a gentle rub my son laughed and smiled then… Continue

Round 2, day 5-a small gift for veterans

Today I made a donation to Iraq and Afghanistan Veterans of America (www.IAVA.org). They are a non-profit group whose mission is to improve the lives of Iraq and Afghanistan veterans and their families. I visit their website quite often and sign petitions that I feel will help. I have been thinking of donating for some time and can't think of a better day than today to do it. I feel so indebted and humbled by the men and women who serve our country and hope… Continue

Give a little, get a lot!

What a great experience I am having. Of course my daily goal is to be in the present, but being watchful of where I can gift really helps my perspective. I've been on a cruise and finished my first 29 days and began my second. Some days I just practiced patience with everyone I met. That gifted both the others on the ship and myself. I also took a lot of group shots holding the camera for many other people so they could be in the picture. I won a massage from the spa. I'm getting to be…

Vacationing with 29 gifts

What an amazing experience. I shared the 29 gifts plan with a few people I met on board. The best part was not knowing what was the "perfect gift" for the day. I loved being in the present and watchful of opportunities. I even became a grateful receiver when I recognized I was the receipient of a gift. Marilyn

Rememberance

I always think of my parents on Memorial Day. Not because they died in World War II (I am not that old) but because they lived to tell about their experiences and carried emotional wounds to their respective

graves.

Dad was not yet 18 years old when he joined the Navy. He was intent upon a career, following his dad and older brother. Grandad was a distinguished naval Commander. He was soon assigned to the North

Atlantic supply ship fleet that moved food and…

Jumper Cables??

HAD to go into town today. Didn't much want to make the trip, but there were things I needed to get. While driving in I was thinking "I'm tired. I'm just going to get what I need and head home."

So I'm walking into the store and just as I'm walking in, a guy I know is walking out. I wave a "hi" and he says "hey, you wouldn't happen to have jumper cables on you; would you?" I tell him I think I do ... I'm one of those people who always keeps them in my vehicle in case of emergency. He… Continue

Gardening :)

Day 18 May 31

I just spent the morning with my dad, gardening, talking, deciding which plants to buy, digging, potting soil etc. It was actually really enjoyable. The last time I planted anything was when I was in elementary school I'm pretty sure... :) We have done a side of the garage and the end, and are considering bringing the garden right up the other side...but we'll save that for next weekend.

I volunteered to work tonight...although I don't think it will be busy because… Continue

last week!

Okay, I am lame this month! So much going on that I can't even take two seconds to blog about my gifts. IT's been a very busy week, working a lot cuz lost most of my employees. I did give and probably everyday! I'm feeling better to be sure these days. Moving on moving on moving on....I'll try again to be more intentional about my giving.

Where Did You Sleep Last Night? A Mother's Dedication

Too Funny. I have to share! I am thankful that God gave ME the gift of patience multiple times during the night. I really dislike being waken during the night--don't we all!

My boys thought this story funny. (I did not read "cave boy" to them.)
Jacob asked if I had my pants down while sleeping on the toilet.

Monday and holidays

It has been nice to have my family home this weekend with nothing set on our schedules. My mother-in-law left Saturday to go back home to upstate New York. Yesterday we hosted a family displaced by the flood at our home for dinner. Today I was up and out early with my husband walking the neighborhood. I even got some positive comments on my walking by two of my neighbors. Made me feel good. My husband and I are going to make a baked falafel recipe today. I also made a cool lime tequila pie… Continue
