Day 13: I gave my time by running errands with a friend who was leaving the country the next day.
Day 14: bought a lovely homeless lady dinner. She was asking for money for a motel room as well. I normally feel uncomfortable about giving money for the fear that it would be used to purchase alcohol or drugs. There was something so honest and kind about her that I knew she would use the money for a place to sleep that night. Her reaction confirmed this...she let out a sigh of relief…

We went on a beautiful hike around the Golden Gate bridge. Towards the end of our hike we ran into two lost tourists. They seemed frustrated by the map they had been given. I gave them my detailed map of the trail which included bike routs (they were on rented bikes).

Day 10: After dancing the night away at the Ugandan benefit concert (where the money from our tickets went to help orphans in Uganda) with the incredible man I'm dating, we decided to grab a bite to eat (all the while, I kept thinking about my gift for the day and that I still needed to give something)...the place was packed as always and as we were waiting in line, I noticed that the crew was working so hard and they were very patient and nice to all the drunk and hungry people...I thought to…

Today (1st Aug) is the start of my 29 Day Giving challenge.
I am starting by giving time to myself to pamper myself. Maybe a facial or pedicure?

I found a penny on the ground today, picked it up and put it in my pocket. Whether it is lucky or not, it felt lucky!
Today was another day of being open to and finding a couple of opportunities to give. I twice called my friend who is in a Chicago hospital to cheer her up (am & pm). I changed my schedule to attend a going-away lunch for a fellow employee at one of my jobs, and was able to offer a poignant story as we went around the room honoring this person. I was able to…

Day 7 - Nothing big today. Driving home from my allergists, stuck in traffic, I let people in front of me who were entering from parking lots and side streets.

OK so I'm plotting my gives for tomorrow. Actually, it's just one mass crazy secret give. I'm taking all my old books , some loved, some, well....anyway, and I'm spreading them out around my city. The best part is that I'm printing out those downloadable cards from the .pdf and I'm putting them inside every book I leave behind! Tee hee I'm sooooo sneaky. I'm writing this post now so anyone who wants to join me can too! Tomorrow night after dark I start my mission. Who's up for a global book…

Today was easy - birthday party of a friend's daughter. We met at a playgroup back when our oldest children (now turning 5) were less than a year old. She's funny, beautiful, smart and caring, and when my twins were just a few days old, she came over to see me like an organic goddess. I don't think I'll ever forget how delicious the food she brought me was - cookies and bars chock full of dried fruit and seeds. I ate them like I was starving, which I suppose I was - breastfeeding two infants…

I just signed up today and decided that I'll start giving on August 1st,
I figured it would be easier to start this new and exciting project at the
beginning of a new month. It's funny because I've been feeling a little down
lately and I stumbled across this website today.
My focus has shifted from myself and now all that I can think about is
what I'm going to give on the first day.
I have so many ideas already, Cami thank you so much for creating this
social…

I was feeling a lot of stress and my saboteur/gremlins were going strong.
I gave myself some compassion.
And called my friend who had a baby recently. It was good to hear her voice and be able to listen to her experience as a new mom.

I know I am going to have to reorganise my giving as it has been very close to home! My excuse is two fold! One I have been on leave from work and out of usual routine. Secondly I have been giving to those close to me! But, I figure keep them happy first then I can go further afield! Well, that is my excuse and I am sticking to it.
Today was the last day of my vacation time and I return to my job tomorrow. My lovely husband has taken leave these last few days with me and we have…

Well I am writing this a day late as I spent too much time yesterday trying to buy things!
I had two things I tried to buy. One with success and one without YET!
The successful thing was a birthday gift. The difficulty is what do you buy someone who has all they need! Or so they think! My friend is celebrating her 53rd birthday and like myself (at 51) has the ability to buy what we need when we need it. She, however has two youngish children (13 & 5 yrs old) who are…

Well, I'm day fourteen of this 29 day giving challenge. This morning as I sat writing in my journal, I took a look at what the last fourteen days meant to me. I've changed the way I look at life each morning. I began this give at the height of some minor but uncomfortable health issues. In other words, my attitude wasn't that good. I was in the 'poor me' stage of life. My focus has taken a 180 degree turn.
I prayed for a friend undergoing a serious operation. I gave my agent's name…

I feel like Sex and the City ... starting my blog today with a question. But it's a question that has been bugging me ... afterall, being a Libra zodiac sign, I see things from both sides and am always striving for balance and peace.
It's been super busy lately (anyone reading this I'm sure can relate), and as I try to give unselfishly to others, I think I've been ignoring myself. So I've worked real hard to get all the household chores caught up. I have the animals all loved and…

Day 2 of posting, but no giving yet...must wait until Aug 1 to meet my inner control freaks' needs.
This past weekend, I took my kids to the park and we found a bank bag full of money! (Let me tell you, I was thinking "I could really use this money" for about 30 seconds...) There was a checkbook inside and they put their phone # on their checks! ( I never do that) So we called them and they were SUPER happy. Turns out they got married in the park the night before and dropped the bag on the…

Today I submitted an article to a website I write for. The article was about the 29-Day Giving Challenge! I spoke with Cami by phone last week to interview her for my blog and for possible publication. I've been researching paying publications but haven't found one that's just right for the article, so I decided to give it to Mommy Matter, www.mommymatter.com, a site where I contribute for free.
