Gratitude in All Things
"We forget to be grateful to what is here and now exactly the way it is as it is. We become great when we move more deeply into gratitude... You may notice that the one great quality that all great beings and masters have is deep appreciation and gratitude for every little thing in their life. Simply said its our ego that wants more of this and that... Never happy with what is. The truth is that gratitude and contentment destroys our ego. Deep heart felt gratitude is the highest spiritual…

Mystery Gifts
I enjoy being a little sneaky now and then, like giving a gift for no reason. It is funny to see the look in their eyes and hear the questions coming.
"Huh? "Why?"
"Because you are awesome!"
"What do you really want?"
"I already got it - your surprised…

Many people talk about being in Spirit or living in Spirit. There are a lot of different ideas and definitions of what if means to live in Spirit.
I was listening to a Father Ed Bacon on a radio program and he gave a definition that really resonated with me.…

Just Ask
Hullo Everyone!
So, today was Day 2 of my Challenge (Round 2). Woke up in an awful mood despite the sunshine. (Don't you hate that! When you know that you SHOULD be happy and you SHOULD feel lucky and you SHOULD count your blessings, but you just feel CRANKY!?)
Despite my initial crankiness, I decided that I needed to get up, make a list, go shopping, get some healthy fruits and veggies and GET OVER MYSELF. Consequently, I made my way to the local grocery store and…

Yesterday, I didn't know what to give. I walked around after gym and I finally caught sight of a man selling 3 packets of tissues for 1 dollar. He was wearing a hearing aid and he didn't seem to be able to see me clearly or at all. I took out two dollars and I wanted to give him straight away like a donation. However, I remembered that he was doing a small business not looking for charity. I am sure he would be demoralised if I gave him 2 dollars just like this, like a donation. I put the 2…

Day 3 - Today I give to let go
In yesterday's post, I talked about the envelope of basketball posters and clippings that my grandparents kept for me for 22 years. My grandfather found them the other day and gave them back to me when I visited him yesterday. This morning, my meditation was, "Today I give to let go."
As soon as I opened the envelope, I knew that I would be giving the contents to my daughter as today's gift. When I handed them to her this morning, she said, "Yeah, I saw that you wrote about this on…

Day 2 - Today I give with intention
I woke up with the thought that I wanted to do something intentional as my gift today. My meditation became, "Today I give with intention." I knew what I was going to do as soon as that meditation crossed my heart and mind. It was all about the smiles for me today.
Recently, a gentleman at the adult day center I volunteer at asked me, "Has anyone ever called you 'Perpetual?'"
I said, "No, they haven't. Why do you ask?"
He answered, "Because perpetual means…

Placed in My Path
So I had one of those weird but good experiences tonight.
It was a long day and by the end of it I was honestly feeling worn out by the stresses of the day and just a bit disconnected too. I was giving myself a little pep talk not to feel blue, but to consciously be grateful, to physically smile, and to state that I am in so many ways "in spirit," connected to my source.
About 9:00 pm, I get the sudden idea to go do some shopping for some household supplies. I can count…

Day Two: Cancer Sucks!
It seems safe to say that in today's world, everyone knows at least one person who has been afflicted with the ugly "C"-word. For as long as I can remember, I have always had a desire to help those suffering with cancer, but I've yet to figure out how to do that in the capacity I would like.
Over a decade ago, I decided I wanted to become a police officer so that I could help other people. After three years of working for a police department, I became very, very…
