Another way to give a gift or two

Hi Everyone,

I wanted to share an additional way to give a gift (or two) each day.

You can go to …

No yardstick for acts of kindness

I'm learning that giving a large check to a non-profit ( which I can't),  sharing a kind word, or anything inbetween  can be a gift of equal importance..  We are not the judge of it's impact.   We are NOT the Judge.

In fact, when I paid someone for a task yesterday, I came home and wish I tipped them. Instead of beating myself up, I took it as a gift from the Universe…

My Passover and Easter Gifts to You - Please Read and Receive Your Gifts!

Hi everyone!

I have already written 3 e-books - 2 children's picture story e-books and one romance (no explicit you know what in them). I only give these e-books away as long as you send them along to other people you know! Share them with your friends! Give them away as a RAK! My e-books are for everyone!

I have attached 3 e-books here - 2 about Bella (my dog who is now a Secret Agent and A Last Glance - romance novel). I do hope you enjoy them and pass them…

Birthday giving... make every year count!

I decided to do something challenging on my birthday. I took it to a higher level. I tried to aim for 47 gifts in one day, one for each year I've been alive. I think I made it to 42.

I left change in a bunch of pay phones. I said thank you a lot and made sure I really meant it. I bought a box of Tim Bits for the people at the laundromat who have always been so nice to me. I bought a few things for my…

The Amazing Receiving End

I am about three-quarters of the way through Cami's book, 29 Gifts, How a Month of Giving Can Change Your Life, and I started my giving while I was on the first page and finished at least a month ago. Since then some really amazing things have happened to me.

I'm a freelance writer and editor and, after I finished my giving, two separate clients that I hadn't heard from in two years because of the down economy both called out of the blue and gave me assignments, and…

The Gift of Give

I have begun volunteering again. This Saturday I will be of service for "Heal The Bay." It will be nice to provide cleanup along the coast. Volunteering is wonderful, I appreciate the opportunity so much. I had been of service last week at the L.A. Mission and was happy to meet a man with smiling eyes. I did not get his name as I was wondering the dining hall cleaning but his smile and gaze stuck with me as well as the warmth we exchanged with our greeting of one another. I also met a man…

Will be starting over tomorrow.

I have had a weird week. A couple of days I didn't give a gift so, I have decided that I'm going to reread the book and start over. I figured that it wouldn't hurt. I'm also planning on introducing 29 Gifts to several of my friends and acquaintances in the next couple weeks. I think this is a good goal. I'm also planning on surprising a couple librarians, who are friends of mine with a gift this week. These two librarians have worked for months on completing an expansion at our hometown…

Day 1 - The Gift of Forgiveness

Today I decided I was going to start the challenge today. The first gift I'm giving is forgiveness. I have a hard time with holding small grudges against my husband. I often get angry went he does something I find selfish. Today I was mindful of how I was feeling and decided to let the incident go. I mindfully told myself that I was giving the gift of forgiveness. It felt good and I felt lighter than I have in a few weeks.

     I'm having a very difficult time lately.  I have…

on the weekend.

This weekend he have been orginizing things, not only with the moving, but personally as well.

Firts, I realize how screwed up my family is, and how long we have been pretending to be alright, and how much it has affected me as well as my brothers and sister. I think she's the one taking the worst of it. So I have been talking to her, and realizing things that maybe I knew, but I didn't want to accept. Anyway, she told me she is going to a therapist tomorrow, and it's…

two days in a row

I've been working hard on moving the office. We painted already and we located the furniture, sort of. We still need to get some more stuff done.

As well, Vic's family is moving too, so, it's been kind of hectic. But this is what I have given this past two days: MOTIVATION. This has been hard for everyone, they did not want to move, but, they had to.

And tomorrow I'm supposed to hand out with my friends and fellow scouts, it should be…

when changes come to your life

you only have two ways of taking it: acepting, embracing and making it as better as it can get, or denial.

Personally I aim to be in the first group. but this all comes to my mind because there's a lot going on right now. We're moving the business from a home office to a local. And besides that, Vic's family moved from house, and there's a lot going on right now actually with only those two things.

Moving the business does not mean you have a chance to take a…

Going Fast - Days 12 & 13

Hello Givers! Hope you are all great!

Yesterday I was introduced to Heather's House, a local org that helps women going through radiation and chemo, items that make them feel pretty - wigs, hats, scarves, special bras for mastectomy patients, etc. I LOVE this! So, I gave.

Today I gave our antique rocking chair to a friend who, after trying everything over two years to get pregnant, finally is!  Woo Hoo.

Have a great, giving weekend all!

Days 4 and 5

I don't get into town much, so I have been looking at local non-profits on the internet. Was amazed and impressed by the number of wonderful organizations here in my wee town.

Yesterday I was able to donate, via the internet, money to our local food bank.

Today I'm in town so I have been putting the 29 days notecards on mirrors with the message: Look how beautiful you are!

This is a lot of fun. Gives me something to look forward to every day!

First 3 days - this is fun

Day one I hid money in my son's plastic Easter eggs. He's 19 and scraping by.

Day two I left a huge tip for the girl who sold me a scoop of Gelato.

Today, day three, I got to give twice. One, I sent a note to a friend telling her she looked great. (she sent a message back saying she really needed to hear that today) and I gave some money to our local animal shelter.

The fun thing is deciding what to do each day. So much positive energy pouring out as we think of the…

Thank You!

Hi Everyone,

Thank you so much to those of you who posted your inspiring remarks on my blog (FrockFiles.com) yesterday. In fact, almost all the comments were from 29 Gifts members, and I think it's because the other readers aren't in the habit of giving gifts. Hopefully they're thinking about it now that you've shown them some great examples.

I just wanted to let you know that I've written a new post, entitled, "19 Gifts That Cost Little to Nothing" and I'd love…

Day Two: It's A Secret!

Today, February 2, I set out to do something for someone special. But it's a secret...for now!

Still not feeling great

I'm just plain worn out, mostly. I haven't had ONE good day health-wise in 2012 yet and it's exhausting.

I did sign up for a game that's been going around Facebook (I was actually able to sit without excruciating pain today). The jist of it is, you offer to make things for the first 5 people who comment on the post. Then they each post in turn the same thing and make five things. Etc. The things can be anything handmade - ie, even a cup of coffee, and it has to be complete by the end…

Day Twelve

Day Twelve.

I stood at the display of Belgian Chocolates today, on sale at Costco for only $13.99 for a whopping three pounds of perfection. Should I or shouldn't I? I was only there to buy a dozen large cans of string beans for a church Christmas dinner.

I did.

When 3 pm rolled around and I'd worked my fingers off at the computer all day, I excitedly opened the exquisitely wrapped box, pulled the bow on the gold ribbon and lifted the lid. Belgian bliss awaited me…

Pssst. A mini-give that requires your help!

Good morning, everyone! Technically, it's afternoon, but I only got up about two hours ago. >.>

My first gift for the day is a small thing. I convinced one of my very best friends (and my self-proclaimed fairy godsister), Hannah, to join 29Gifts today. She is a bright, creative girl who loves crafting and is responsible for about 75% of the letters I receive. I'm…
