Day 9 of my Challenge

Okay, I'm weird - there I said it.

I'm a person who enjoys giving gifts all year long. Last year, I gave Christmas gifts in September and October. I was told Christmas wasn't until December. Since my brother and I are our mother's caregivers, every day is a RAK for my mom whether it is changing her oxygen tank, washing her clothes, fixing her meals, taking her on errands, etc. It's only a RAK because we do it with love. 

My mom isn't easy to get along with and doesn't always treat us very nicely. She did pay us a compliment the other day. She said, "I couldn't have asked for better kids."

Hi all and hope you are all ready for an early Fall.  The Locusts around here have been chirping since the end of June.  They say 6 weeks after you hear them you get your first frost.  I don't think that is going to happen, but I do think it will be early.

wow, I was looking back at how long it's been since I was at this site. Its been a longg while. BUT none the less, this challenge changed my life. I STILL give every single day. Most days I give over and over all day. Some days, I over-give. It makes me feel that good :) 

I have begun volunteering again. This Saturday I will be of service for "Heal The Bay." It will be nice to provide cleanup along the coast. Volunteering is wonderful, I appreciate the opportunity so much. I had been of service last week at the L.A. Mission and was happy to meet a man with smiling eyes. I did not get his name as I was wondering the dining hall cleaning but his smile and gaze stuck with me as well as the warmth we exchanged with our greeting of one another. I also met a man…

yesterday my coworker Janice asked me if i knew where there were any blackberries, she thought it was about time for them to be getting ripe. i remembered that i'd just gotten an email from the lady who owns our local quilting shop, saying that she had a bumper crop of dewberries (which are little wild blackberries), too many for her and her hubby to use, and anyone who wanted some was welcome to come pick some. so, today being our half day of work, we went over this afternoon and spent a…

Yesterday I gave a simple gift. I found 2 dollars in my pocket and gave them to my kids. No biggie, but you should have seen their cute little faces light up. My little peanuts just melt my heart. :)

Happy Valentine's Day everyone!



Today, I made and prepared a gift but I did not get to deliver it. Sad face! Let me explain.



This morning, as I was getting ready for school, I still didn't know what to do for my gift. But I knew that I wanted to do something love-slash-Valentine's-Day themed so I grabbed my three special pink heart-shaped post-its and stuffed them in my purse, hoping that I would figure out a way to use them sometime…

day 20:  went to an art auction and bid on all of the art pieces that didn't have any bids, and won them all! cost me a pretty penny... but well worth it :)

day 21:  I bought my lover some dinner... he is struggling with funds right now, and i treated him to this new mexican restaurant

day 22: bought dinner for my two friends and a homeless guy i met going into the restaurant. 

Plugging along!

Day 14: Today I purchased a remote control helicopter for my boyfriend. He has been looking at them for months, but didn't want to "waste his money"... so I "Wasted" mine on something he REALLY REALLY wanted, and will make him so happy when he gets it! Can't wait to play with it with him.

Day 15: Friday we picked up our daughter (she lives with her mom during the week, and with us on the weekends) and I took her shopping to pick out valentine…

Spent two days with Graycie, a lover of a dog! We walked, played in the fall leaves, stopped at every post, watched a movie, slept together and hung out. My gift of dog sitting for a friend was a gift to me.
