Today .... I had pumpkin day with the kids, gave out two birthday presents (two kids celebrating birthdays tomorrow), worked late, then stuck up for myself and told these clients I couldn't keep working late for them (this is hard for me to do, but I needed to give myself this), drove a teenage girl to the homecoming dance, and spent some quality time with my little cousins playing a game called "Two Truths, One Lie"
Two Truths, One Lie is a game that's great as a getting to…

So tonight was my first night with helping teach religious education .... if you missed my last post, they just called me up yesterday to ask for my help and it started tonight. Anyway, I get there and I'm supposed to be one of three people help teach this class. One of the three wasn't there, and the other was a guy who's wife signed him up and was so eager to get out of this. I said I'd be fine doing this on my own .... I think he may have been dancing on the way out. I kind of like to…

as some of you know I am spending a year fundraising for the Susan G Komen 3 day walk. This is a 60 mile walk which I will be completing in 2012. Proceeds go towards fighting breast cancer. I must raise $2300 in order to walk in this event. My cousin is doing it with me so together we need to raise $4600. I am committed to doing so.
So if you're looking for something to give ......
We're doing a magazine fundraiser. If you order a magazine, you would be giving to…

Held a Bake Sale and Garage sale all day today. It was pretty successful. Proceeds are going to the Susan G. Komen Foundation for the fight against breast cancer.

Today I allowed myself to be weak. I allowed myself to call for help, to have someone relieve me for a bit. It made a world of a difference ...... so much so that I was able to work late today (a give) and then spend a nice evening giving two little girls some qualtiy game time and homework help

Festival was held at church today ... a fundraiser.
I brought two pies I had made to contribute to the dinner. I brought small crafts to be sold there. I worked the children's games.
Tonight I am saying prayers for my aunt ... and asking for others to add their prayers too .... she found a lump in her breast and is going in to get it removed and tested tomorrow.

It is still somewhat strange to be responsible for a 17 year old girl; she's been here for about a week now. I have found myself helping with homework, helping with language (as she doesn't always know the English words), filling out school forms, signing papers, fixing meals, making sure she has everything for school, making phone calls to the cheerleading coach to get her in even though the season already started (she is more than happy just to do practices).
Receives: she…

I'm a bit leary about this give, but a give it is.
Today I had an interview set up with a potential client. She didn't show up at the scheduled time. Normally I consider that a terrible first impression and not likely to be somebody I'd want as a client, and I avoid rescheduling or taking them on. Still, in this case I did know the woman a bit prior to this. I assumed she forgot about the meeting. I actually made the point to call her and check on the meeting ... she called back…
