My gifts for the past three days have a theme of family and memories.
Day 15 - I ordered an
external hard-drive for my daughter so she can drag-n-drop backup files from her eMac. Mostly her computer is loaded with family photos. Many photos are of my fifteen week old grandson. I would hate for her to lose any of those precious photos if a hard crash happened. Today was my annual eye exam at a clinic two hours away from my home. My gift from the universe was a healthy report. No problems with my eyes. My prescription for allergy eye drops was renewed along with the gift of a free sample bottle. Yea! Today is Sept. 15 and my quarterly estimated taxes were due. So I wrote out a hefty check to Uncle Sam this morning. I did not do this reluctantly, but joyously (although I admit I wasn't jumping up and down with joy). My checking account balance is looking rather slim now. Three days of rain created
flash floods in our city. A friend of ours emailed us to say he saw that Burlington was mentioned on CNN for receiving record rainfall but I didn't see it. Yesterday it rained all day. This morning we discovered an inch of water in our basement. My husband got busy gathering up all the soaked throw rugs and began his all day project of sucking up water with the shop vac.
