The gift for Day 14 has been the gift of mail! I mailed what I hope was an encouraging card to a colleague that has been grieving a loss. I couldn't find any good encouraging cards in the stores ( I looked at multiple places) so I ended up getting a blank one and writing a quote in it. We aren't particularly close but I hope that it will let her know that I am thinking of her!
I also put a catalog that should have gone to my neighbor's house in their mailbox. My husband was just going…

The gifts for Day 12 were patience and empathy. Patience for others and empathy with others. I was not in the best of moods so these gifts were DEFINITELY a challenge.

The gift for Day 11 was to loan my cell phone to my husband for the day. His phone had broken the night before and he really needs a phone to be accessible to his customers. It may not sound like a big gift but to me (and to him) it was definitely one of the most selfless gifts I have given thus far.

Gifts for Day 10 included: letting my god-sister know about this website so that she can post her own gifts, spending the day with my furbaby because she wasn't feeling well the night before and treating myself to a day of lounging around INSTEAD of doing dishes and laundry. :)

My gift today was giving the gift of inspiration to someone who has always inspired me: my god-sister. As a yogini, she is a beautiful person of very few material things so finding a birthday gift for her is always a challenge. Since she has always inspired me, I thought it fitting to let her know that and to give her the gift of the "29 Gifts" book. She just got back into town from a retreat and started reading it and said that she already loves the book! I know she will pass it on to…

On Day 8, I gave my Daddy 2 gifts. The first gift was that I took my Mom out of town for part of the day so that he could have some peace and quiet. (So it actually was a gift for my Mom too, because she had been wanting to get out of town for the day). The second gift that my Daddy had was to be able to spend his Mom-free day with my furbaby. They are inseperable and enjoy spending time together.
Another good day of giving!

My gift for Day 7 was to drive my mom to her dentist appointment. She was having really bad tooth pain so I offered to drive her in case she did not feel like driving home. About 15 minutes after I dropped her off at the dentist, the sky opened up with a torrential downpour-the likes of which I have not seen in a VERY long time. So I ended up giving myself a gift by proving to myself that I could drive in rain like that without freaking out (I am recovering from a car accident and have…
ContinueToday my gift was the gift of quality time spent with my husband. Although I wasn't feeling well, I went out on the boat with him because I knew he would appreciate the company. We had a REALLY nice time and I only squawked about how fast he was going a few times. ;)

My gift on Day 5 was to load, run and unload multiple loads of dishes even though it was my husband's turn. This may not sound like much, but for me it is TRULY a gift because I cannot stand doing the dishes!

On Day 4, I had to go into town for a doctor's appointment. My gift was to spend quality time with my mom. We enjoyed shopping and then I bought her some of her favorite sweets at the grocery store. We had a very nice time together.

Day 3: My gift on Day 3 was to make worry creatures for 2 of my friends. One of them is moving out of state to follow her heart and both of my friends (the one moving and the one staying) are having a hard time dealing with being away from each other. I made 4 worry creatures and let them each pick 2. When they start to worry about each other or about what they will do without each other, they can talk to their worry creature instead of feeling worried or sad.
Definitely a…

Today, I ended up giving more than I initially thought I would. The first gift I gave was to our vet. She does so much for my furbaby so when I found a brand new muzzle that didn't fit my baby, I decided to take it with us to today's appointment. I know that she sees lots of other animals who get scared and have to be muzzled for shots, acupuncture, etc. and wanted to give back to her. She seemed very appreciative of the gift and said they can always use new muzzles! It felt good to be…

Yesterday was Day 1 of the 29 Day Giving Challenge for me. I decided that my gift would be to brighten the day of my husband and his co-workers, so I made brownies for him to take to work. The brownies were well-received and felt like a sweet way to start this challenge. I think I may try to send in some kind of homemade goodie with my husband once a month or so to show appreciation for all that he and his co-workers do.
