The Giving starts the giving...

Since I started '29 days' I've realised that I haven't just started a fixed 29 days of giving, I've started an ongoing awareness of giving. Some days go by in such a rush that I don't stop and ask myself "what did I give today?". However, I've noticed that the opportunities to give are presenting themselves to me! For example, I had a call from a friend's mom this week. She lives more than 1100km from her daughter and is determined that her daughter is going to be given a much-needed pampering for her birthday. She's asked if I'll arrange a facial, a pedicure and a new haircut, including foils. As with all surprises, a number of lies, deceptions and collusion has been necessary to organise this special surprise which will take place tomorrow morning. My friend thinks that I'm picking her up to take her to breakfast - poor girl - I'll be making sure she gets something to eat later on in the morning, between her pampering! I'm so excited about this and it's given her mom such joy to be able to do this for her daughter - to be honest, I feel like I'm receiving a gift too - what a wonderful opportunity I've been given - to bring joy to a friend, and to make a 76 year old mom thrilled to bits!

This is an awesome surprise! How exciting for her & for U & her mom too. I agree, I think the 29 gifts is more an awareness & a mindfullness of where & how we can contribute to make the world a better place just by being in it. I think many or most of us do this as a matter of course but this program makes U more aware... xoxoxo enjoy your covert operation!
