I really enjoy making people happy. I love to see people smile and knowing that I may have made their day a little bit better. One of the ways I tend to do that is by giving people gifts. I love to find that perfect "gift" for someone. I give presents all the time, even when I can't necessarily afford it or it is an out of the blue, just because gift.
And that's why I really wanted to try this challenge. I want to be creative and find more ways to "give" to people. Don't get me wrong. There is absolutely nothing wrong with buying someone a gift. I just want to challenge myself to keep giving, just a different way than I normally would.
So today I started by making cookies to thank a friend for her donation to the Wags 'N Whiskers walk for the local humane society that I participated in with my husband and two dogs. She loved the oatmeal cookies and the office finished them before lunch.
I bought myself a bouquet of daisies to place on my desk at work. It brightens up everything! You can't help but smile when you look at them.
I mailed all the Christmas cards my family received to St. Jude's to be recycled/reused into new cards and ornaments.
I gave a copy of Sundays at Tiffany's by James Patterson to a coworker. I read so many books, I would rather pass them on then let them collect dust on my book shelf.
I have also been making a conscious effort to smile and say hello or good morning to everyone I see today.
I think I am off to a good start. I hope it continues!
