On day 2 of giving, I did something pretty simple. My daughter's boyfriend really needs a job. So I called my brother who has his own construction business and asked him if he could talk to him and possibly give him some hours. He wasn't home at the time but later in the evening he called me back. It just so happened that Adam (my daughters friend) was visiting at the time. They were able to connect on the phone and set up a meeting. In this economy jobs are hard to come by and hopefully this will work out for both parties.
As I was reading my Bible this morning I came upon this verse. 1John 3:18. It says "Dear Children, let us not love with words or tongue, but with actions and in truth. This then is how we know that we belong to the truth, and how we set our hearts at rest in his presence whenever our hearts condemn us. For God is greater than our hearts and He knows everything."
A reminder and encouragement of why we need to be doing for others!
