My husband and I save all our change troughout the year and then divide it 4 ways - 1/4 to each of our 3 grandkids savings accounts and 1/4th to a charity the whole family agrees upon. Today at the request of our 8 year old granddaughtre (and the agreement of everyone else) we sent a family donation to the American Red Cross to help the victims of Hurricane Sandy.
The following article gives information on some of the ways people can help.

And of course prayers and positive thoughts are always appreciated and needed.

Comment by M on November 2, 2012 at 11:33pm Thanks for this idea, Ann. There's a Coin Star machine at the casino, and I am going to dump my change in and donate it to the Sandy victims. I save my change in a big 2 qt glass milk jug. If I had to guess, I'll bet there's more than $50.00 in there right now!
