I felt sorry that I didn't contact mom for a long time, I just sent a fax to her with a picture on mother's day. Sometimes I worked too late and didn't want to bother my roommates at late evening so I didn't call.
I called her back today and listened some of her friends' stories, the yam greens in her yard, the ups and downs of her investment, the great quotes she read recently...I'm glad she's doing great, and she's glad for my life progress too.
My brother's helping me to make the remodeling projects more "solid" because I tend to choose materials that look "nice." He reviewed my work list and asked me to list the details, helped me to calculate the cost of parts and labors. Even though we live in different states and rarely see each other, we have much more contact than the time we lived together, no one ever imagined that (he called me twice and emailed me several times today). So I'm again preparing a parcel full of gifts for him, mostly delicious Asian food.
