29-Day Giving Challenge

beginning a new creation, and another celebration

a while back one of the ladies i work with found a stitchery of a peacock in a box of old linens. it was a little stained but still beautiful and she wanted to do something with it for her Mother in law for a gift for her birthday as she love peacocks. the problem was it was shaped like an oval and we could not find a suitable frame. so i came up with the idea of making a throw pillow with the stitchery appliqued on it. i laid it out in the sunlight several times til the stains were gone. yesterday i cut out the pillow material and began the work of sewing it together. it is not done, but nearly. the making is my gift to Linda, and the pillow will be her gift to her MIL. and the fun of creating it is a gift to me :o)

and today was my husband's and my youngest grandson's 13th birthday. we drove over to his house for his birthday dinner, gave him his birthday card and some money, and watched him and his friends ride his four wheeler around and around the house in the pouring rain. Good Times!

Great gives!  Will you please post a picture of the finished product?  I'd love to see how it turns out.  Knowing your skills and creativity, it will be so cool!

I didn't know about removing stains in the sun.  I must try that with my wedding dress.  It almost fits.  I love your creative gift to your friend.  Yippee, Rain  Happy Birthday to you husband and grandson.
