Still in recovery mode from surgery...so my gift giving continues to be sporadic. Another 10 days until I am back to work at which point I am starting my 29 days over...
Here is a list of my recent gifts...
We have all seen the poor individuals whose job it is to stand roadside holding a big sign promoting tax services, pizza parlors, selling gold etc.. Normally I drive by & ignore them. Today the man waved & I waved back. He got the biggest smile on his face that I waved back...I am sure he tires of being ignored! Silly gift but made me smile.
Other gifts this past two weeks...
Cleaned some closets...and, that surely produced a series of gifts. Clothes for my Mom, donations for the kids upcoming Theatre production, more clothes for my neighbors as well as books for a local charity.
Gift of my time...
Connected with my brother online via the game Words with Friends...now rather than talking once a month we connect daily competing to get the best words!
My husband likes to do laps at the pool...for me I am not a huge pool fan. So when he walked in the bedroom two weeks ago to change for the pool & he found me in my bathing suit ready to join him he was to say the least surprised & thrilled that I was joining him (not to swim) but as moral support.
Also, for my hubby I stole an idea from Cami. I gave him control of the remote at bed time. Although a little gesture he was quite excited since I pretty much control it 100% of the time...which I until I read Cami's idea I never realized it.
Time with my kids...while cleaning out the closets I found the box of memories I keep for my kids who are now 14 & soon to be 16. We had such fun looking at photos, old artwork & especially my sons books that he wrote in 2nd grade. We really had a good laugh!!
Other gifts...
Sent cupcakes to my surgeon as a special thanks...his office really enjoyed them. Chocolate covered strawberries (her fav) heading my Mom's way for all her help during my recovery. Along with a stack of thank-you cards to all my wonderful friends & family who have been such a great support system.
Although my condition has no cure & surgery was just one step in my new journey it feels good to focus on something so positive as 29 gifts!!
Happy giving...God Bless you today & always!
