Day 1

This is my first day. I have been reading the website and blogs for a while, and trying to give more. But I just joined today. I decided that I would make dinner for my husband as my first give. I make dinner all the time. But today was different because I had called in to work sick. I really had no interest in making dinner (it's usually more for me than for him). But I thought he should come home to dinner. So I made it. He didn't really like what I made all that much. I think I'm finding out that he doesn't like left over turkey, in any form. I started getting resentful over his lack of appreciation and then realized that kind of negates my gift. So I just decided to let go of it. Maybe next year I'll get a smaller turkey and not have so many left overs.

My second give was that I finally ordered my son's Christmas present. It is obviously late,
but I had trouble deciding what to get. I finally made up my mind and ordered it. I told him on Christmas day that he would get a late present. I think my gift for him is a good one, even though it will be late. Better than if I had just ordered something I was unsure of, to get it there on time. I'm hoping that this challenge will help me to give to other people in
a more open, selfless way. GloriaP
