29-Day Giving Challenge

My first Blog but I am starting over.  On accident really.  After reading 29 gifts I began the 29 day giving.  However, I recently had a birthday. Quite selfish, but I forgot to GIVE...i was embarrassingly too into receiving!

For today I gave a friend of mine who bakes, full price for something she charged me less for (being her friend).  I had the money intended for that purpose anyway, so it didn't seem like such a great gift.  However, I DID do it w/ intention, being that I would have probably paid her less otherwise.  It WAS worth it.  It was beautiful. Then I gave her 2 more future baking gigs.  Still doesn't seem like enough of a gift.

Seems like a wonderful gift to me, Heather! And in some ways it doesn't matter. I bet if we had meters that could measure the happiness brought by our gifts, we'd be really surprised by the ones that registered the most and the ones that registered the least. We just don't know how even the smallest gesture of kindness might transform another person's day. "I did do it with intention." That's what matters, right? :)

I believe that one of the best gifts you can give to an artist or creative person is to purchase their creations! You did this, plus set up future baking gigs! Believe me, this is a great gift and will do wonders for her self esteem and inspiration. Well done, I say! ;)
