Day 11 - help with a speech and positive comments

Today was a busy one, but I was able to critque/help my son with his introductory paragraph for his speech for public speaking.  I think he liked how I helped him with the last one, so he asked for my advice again.  I love it because so much of their homework I can't help with, like Math, but writing and creativity-that I can do!  An old friend of mine who I rarely see has been in touch with me via e-mail, about becoming engaged.  He is in his mid-forties and it is a second marriage for him.  He is in that great stage of new love and shared with me more about his fiance and sent me pictures of the antique ring he found.  I sent him back lots of positive comments about all he shared with me.  I think (hope) values my thoughts and feelings, so I hope what I said means a lot to him.

Your son and your friend are both so lucky to have you in their lives.  Taking time out of your extremely busy day to truly listen and encourage someone is the very best gift you can give!

i'm sure your son must have liked how you helped last time, or else he wouldn't have asked again :-)  it sure feels good when the kiddos value your advice doesn't it? it's great that your friend has you to share his happiness with...you know what they say, happiness shared with a friend is happiness doubled.
