29-Day Giving Challenge

I have been not so great about blogging about my giving activity the past week, nevertheless I have still been giving. Breakfast for a homeless man that I always walk by on my way to work, flowers for my Mom, an email to a friend I haven't seen in over a year (and plans to meet soon), a small donation to Operation Smiley just to name a few. My favorite didn't really feel like a 'give' at all - a the grocery store last week I offered to help an elderly woman take her bags to her car. She declined my offer but was so thankful for the gesture. Her smile made my day!

Today is my day off from work, but I was to go in to cover for someone who was out sick yesterday. I was a little bummed about losing my day off. Then I decided to let it go. If I had to go in, it would be a great and productive day that would give me lots of time to be a Daymaker (www.daymakermovement.com or www.juut.com) and if I didn't have to go in, it would be a great and productive day at home. Either way I set myself up for a great day. As it turns out, I didn't have to go in after all! My gift today was one to myself of letting go of the outcome and simply going with intention.

I am also inspired to send a thank you card to a troop member overseas. I think that it is something that I would like to do every week. I can't imagine doing what they do and if I can brighten their day at all, I definitely want to!

On to week three. :)

I like your gift of letting yourself go with the flow... I think it is something we both need to work on... Maybe a combined effort? :)
