I had a quiet reminder today to live in the moment, and treat every day with my children as a gift. A family in my community recently lost their little toddler boy, he just never woke from his nap. His mother was kind enough to share some of his sweet life on Facebook and remind us all to just cherish each moment, for we never know how many more we will get. She said she had no regrets about loving her little boy, about letting him play and get dirty, about giving him her fully present self.
Tonight I helped my 14yo daughter with her dish chore (on Thursdays she makes dinner, cleans up and does dishes - as well as her dog chores, homework, volleyball). She really wanted to go to the last 8th grade boys football game of the season; they are playing on the high school field, under the big lights. And she wanted to go with her dad. It's a small gift, but I am so happy knowing they are there now, together, having fun for this moment.

Thanks for the post & condolences on the loss. Life is often so strong & yet still so very fragile. My heart goes out to the family.

I am so sorry for the loss. Very sad. I have come to learn, through illness that each minute is a gift and to use it wisely. Thank you....
Thanks for passing on the reminder.
My condolences to the family, Sasha, that is tragic! You are so right, we all need to be reminded to cherish the moment. Your gift to your daughter tonight was so nice..I'll bet she is having so much fun at the game!
