Day 2
I spent a majority of the day in the car driving back from NJ to Rochester and wondered when the opportunity to give would arrive. We were just a mile from our home when my cell phone rang. My mother must of sensed our return. Usually I like to unwind when we return from a trip before visiting with friends and family but I also know how much my mother loves to see her granddaughters. So, I invited her over to visit. When we arrived home I found that her birthday present, which had been delayed, had arrived. It was perfect - we caught up, sharing stories and pictures from our trip and got to watch her open her gift. Instead of worrying about unpacking, going through messages and mail, etc., I got to extend our trip a little further by sharing it.
