29-Day Giving Challenge

Today I felt much better physically which was a huge relief.  My friend, Emily, brought over some lunch and we had a good catch-up as we hadn't seen each other in a few months.  She also brought me a stuffed koala which I had given to her when her daughter Lyla was gravely ill (she's doing really great now), and a bunch of board books for the baby.  In return, I offered her a box of Halloween brownie mix which she said she would make for Lyla's daycare.

In the afternoon, my sister-in-law dropped off a bunch of food and we talked for a bit.  It was a nice, quiet visit and before she left, I offered her a box of Halloween cookies and some orange frosting.  She said she would make the cookies for my niece and nephews as a treat.

Later, my sister-in-law called to invite my husband to a football game.  I was pleased that he was able to spend some time with his sister and our brother-in-law tonight, and that he was given this short respite from taking care of me, which I think is important as well.

My friend Liza called in the evening just to check in with me as she's leaving on a business trip tomorrow.  It was nice of her to make the time to call, as I'm sure she was trying to wrap up a million things before her morning flight.

Today, I am grateful for the caretakers of the world, good friends (online and in-person), and for my husband's company, which makes cake mix, cookie mix, and brownie mix and offers product samples to its employees.

Sounds like a great group of people you have around you--I am very happy for you for that!  Glad you are feeling better.
