29-Day Giving Challenge

I had three addresses left on my list of postcard collectors from the Ravelry RAK board, and three postcards that needed sent. Finally achieving the task of getting postcards, addresses, and stamps together in one place (made all the more dicey by realizing one of the cards was going to Iceland, and wondering just how much it cost to send a postcard to Iceland - 98 cents it turns out), I finished my postcard-sending for the month as a gift for today.

For myself, it was making a break for home as soon as I conveniently could in the mid-afternoon. I still had some office hour time to go, but I was so exhausted I couldn't take any more, so I put a note on my door saying I was going home sick and would be back Monday. My students know I've been dragging, and if by rare chance anyone came to Friday afternoon office hours, they ought to be understanding.

I did go to bed early last night, asking hubby to give the cats their supper. They eat at eight. At ten-thirty they I still had a parade of cats coming in and out of the bedroom. Our little calico, who is painfully shy and often won't eat for hubby, was very insistent that I get up and feed her something. I finally dragged myself out of bed to get her some of her favorite food, and discovered that none of the cats had been fed yet. "Oh, they haven't been bugging me for food." "I know -- they've been bugging me!" Oy. Needless to say, after tossing and turning and growling over that before I could fall asleep, I was not well-rested when the alarm went off at 5:00 this morning. Tomorrow is Saturday, so maybe, maybe I can get that full night's sleep that I've searched for in vain this week? Maybe?
