Wow you guys! Today has been soooo crazy! Oh Em GEEzzzz my feet hurt.
After yesterday's entry I have really felt so much better! One of the blogs I found to help me on the road to organization and making myself a priority is called FlyLady.net. I tried her methods out about 6 or 7 years ago on the recommendation of a dear friend but got myself a boyfriend (now husband - yay me!) and decided to focus on other things. I've remembered some of her theories throughout the years and am excited that she's not only still around, but her fanbase and website have grown so much! Looks like she's walking the walk! Anyway, she says that first thing you have to do is shine your sink. Sounds silly, but what it does is #1 makes you clean something and #2 gives you a sense of accomplishment. Her second piece of advice is to get dressed first thing everyday, all the way down to your shoes.
She attributes this theory to her many years of direct sales in the cosmetic industry. Before she made any calls she got all dressed up and dolled up because it changes your entire attitude. I recently joined the world of direct sales as well and she's SO RIGHT! It has helped me SO MUCH! It's amazing just how motivated you feel when you aren't in your jammies at 2:00 in the afternoon. LOL
Today's gift went to my 7 year old son, Riley. Riley, like his mother, has been blessed with the gift of gab AND the love of writing. We talked tonight about a gratitude journal and how important it is to be thankful every day, even if just for one thing. So, while we didn't get the journal started yet, the seed has been planted. We will either discuss his gratitude, or he can write about it in a journal that I'm going to get him. That's the gift that keeps on giving. :)

Thanks for sharing about flylady.com, I'm going to check it out! It's so cool that you're teaching Riley so young how to have an attitude of gratitude. I have attempted to start a grattitude journal in the past, but never really kept with it. Thanks for inspiring me to try again.
