29-Day Giving Challenge

Thank you so much to everyone that has taken the time to welcome me!!! It means so much!!! And thank you for reading and commenting on my posts! It's really been keeping me motivated to keep giving and telling the stories about the gifts! Thanks again!!!

One of my favorite authors is Emily Giffin. A few weeks ago I requested her newest book from the library. There were a few people on the list ahead of me so I just had to patiently wait. On Tuesday the library called. The book was waiting for me. I immediately went out to pick it up and started reading it Tuesday night after the kids settled into bed. Well I read, and read, and read until my eyes could no longer stay open. I felt so connected to the characters. Almost as if they were my new best friends and I couldn't wait to find out how their story unraveled. So I drifted off to sleep with plans to finish reading the last 100 pages in the morning.

Well I awoke to a gorgeous day. Sunny. Warm. Nothing like the weather the previous days. I looked at my 2 year old while he ate his breakfast and knew it wouldn't be fair to keep him inside while I finished a book. So we got ready and headed out to my least favorite place ...... the park!! It was my gift to him on my 3rd day of giving.

I usually set a time limit for our trips to the park. 1 hour at the most (2 if we're meeting for a play date!) But yesterday I just let the time pass without checking my watch. We chased each other, went down the slide and crossed the monkey bars. I pushed him on the swing and then he took his turn to push me. And after what seemed like an eternity, I got him into the car, buckled his car seat, and took him to another park. We did all the same things over again. And then we went to another park and another. I figured we may as well figure out which park is the best in our town.

After playing at 4 parks and lunch at McDonald's, we went to wait for his older brother to get out of school. We were early to pick him up. But that was ok. We both fell asleep in the car while waiting for school to get out!!
