day 3 - cars,gardens and grouting!

A good for giving today without spending any money and using my skills/giving time. I checked and showed mum how to top up the water and anti freeze in her engine.I  dug over a part of her garden and added 6 big bags of soil to a 'bare' corner, so that's it ready for planting. This part of the garden has been bare after some building work was completed in her garden and she can see it from her chair in the lounge - I think if has been driving her mad, as it looked so ugly. She has been suffered from a bad back, so I'm glad I could help and  it was lovely working in the fresh air and good exercise for me too!

I also grouted a mosaic project for charity, that I will be flying with to the States in a couple of weeks' time..so a good day for giving!

Mum cooked me a roast dinner in return, with lashings of tea during the day..I think I will sleep well tonight!

I also sold an item on ebay, which will help to raise the money I need for my ticket to the States..bit by bit as they say!

Hi Jezga, 

I would love to post a picture of my mosaic project, but I'm not allowed, as it's top secret! I have mosaiced a table top heart with the help of loads of children from the local children's hospital ward for 'Hearts and heroes' 2013. It's an art event that gets artists to decorate either a big heart or a little one, they are displayed around san Francisco and sold at a gala charity auction on valentines day next year to raise money for the trauma unit of the hospital. I am flying with the heart, as the shipping was nearly $800 to get it to me in the uk, and as I'm funding all of it ( delivery back to the states, materials etc) I will be flying on a stand by ticket! So I am going to fly with it on November, so will be fun! I have enjoyed every part of giving my time, creativity to this project and working with the kids and even raising the funds to do it!
