Today I found my opportunity to give while reading the
NY Times. There was an article about the lack of micronutrients in the diets of pregnant women in poorer countries. Here's the article:

Without micronutrients such as folic acid and iron, babies are born with life-threatening deformities such as holes in their skulls. Getting micronutrients into the food supply is extremely cheap and sustainable--it just needs to be done. Project Healthy Children (
http://projecthealthychildren.org/index.php) works with other non-profits and the governments of developing countries to ensure that their populations as a whole and expecting mothers especially are healthy. So, today, my gift is to them in the form of a donation. It feels good to get involved, even in such a limited way, with part of the news I read about every day.
