Day 30 listening

Today I listened to my wife. This might sound easy or simple, but I really listened. I did not jump in, or give an opinion...I just listened. I could tell that she welcomed that, and later in the evening, I felt she listened to me.

I was an active listener to her thoughts about work and the world. I notice that I tend to not be a good listener. I often form ideas when someone is speaking and this is not true listening. This is something I will continue to work on.

it seems like men are sort of hard wired to try to "fix" things (at least that's been my observation) whereas most women simply want to feel heard and understood. really listening to your wife was one heck of a gift in my opinion! Hugs, Dawn
