I bartend on Saturdays and there is this older couple that comes in almost every Saturday. They always get the same food and drink every time. I have a certain amount of drinks that I can 'comp' for people and usually save those for the people that sit at the bar. I decided today to 'buy' this couple their wine and beer that they always have. They were pleasantly surprised and it made me feel good knowing that quite possibly they could be on a fixed income and that might have meant quite a bit. It's a different gift I guess, but I still think it counts.
