Day 4 Grocery Shopping with Mom

[Loudara]

My mom is almost 90 and partially blind, but she is queen of her kitchen. Her only grandchild turns 18 tomorrow, and she is making chicken and dumplings for him. So I accompanied her to the grocery and assisted her as she shopped. I have a headache now and need a nap, but she is happy. My gift to her, besides the trip, was to give her a pleasant and companionable outing to and treat her with kindness and generosity. The mother-daughter relationship journey can be rocky and steep, and I'm not sure I'll ever feel like a complete adult until she's gone. But for now I'm glad she's still around.

Kudos. I know how trying and complex the relationship with a mother can be, especially as an adult. I bet you've done her a world of good as well as when she is gone you will be able to remember that you gave willingly and lovingly even though you didn't necessarily feel like it!

Good give Loudara. Enjoy her while she is here!! My mom has been gone 13 years and I miss her every day. Great give for your mother to her grandson!! Quite a feat at that age.
