Today I gave out lots of smiles at work. I greet each student that comes in, but since it is in a testing arena, I do so in silence so my smile is my greeting. I also smiled at people in the hallways. I realize sometimes people are tired or in a bad mood or just in their own world, so I just do a quick eye contact and smile so they know I acknowledged them, but nothing is expected in return. I got a gift at the grocery tonight too. When the cashier scanned the beer I was getting she jokingly asked, "Did you just turn 21 this week?!" That got a smile AND a laugh from me. Isn't it cool how the smallest things can make someone's day?

I love that, Lefty! That was a spirit lifter! I'll bet your smiles made a difference today!
