Day 5- Blueberry Pancakes
Today's gift was to the sports and fit 4 me camp. The day after a holiday, very few kids. both camps had only a total of 18 children with 6 staff. Was 95 degrees out, and no one felt like going outside a moving.
I decided to go the grocery store and purchase all the items needed to make whole wheat pancakes, with fresh picked blueberries and local maple syrup.. I brought back to the staff and kids, and they began to involve everyone to mix the batter and get ready to cook.
now there was a large moaning from eveyrone"whole wheat, yuck" but due the creativity of staff and quick thinkging, they were making mouse shaped pancakes, heart shaped, flowers, animals, symbols and a variety of more, each looking like they had a smile on them.
Staff and kids kept cool, found they all "LOVED- whole wheat pancakes" but had more fun just creating ideas!
