Today I was able to take time to talk to my friend online. I hardly ever see him online, so I sent him a email asking him how he is doing, and a couple seconds later he popped up on chat. It turned out he had a lot on his mind, and I was glad to be able to talk to him today...I think just being available can be such a gift to people. It was also a gift for me to know I could offer him the chance to just talk about whatever, and to know that I actually had some useful advice to give him :p. Well I hope it was useful anyways haha.
He also gave me a gift of new perspective. Basically he had cancer during his ending high school years, and managed after a few years to get healthy again. He really wants to have a family someday, and he was expressing how sometimes it can be challenging in the dating area...because people would think he can't have children anymore (which apparently isn't the case...I don't know too much about it), even though his doctor backs him up and says he can. I didn't even know this was a issue, but apparently there was a girl that things were going well with, until her parents found out he had cancer and wouldn't let her see him anymore because they were worried about having kids. And yet in spite of these challenges he is very optimistic :). Anyways, it was good to talk to him and get a new perspective on things, I'm sure he will find someone who appreciates him and can look at the facts and not the stereotypes of cancer survivors.
In other news I just got paid for something I put together a while back that I didn't even think about. It was perfect timing too because I needed some money to take care of a few people coming over for the weekend. I'm learning to trust God more and more to take care of things, and to focus on loving and creating.
Thanks everyone for the comments! Goodnight.
