Day 8 :)
In October I really got the urge to volunteer some of my time. I got on the internet and searched for organizations in my area...I came upon Big Brothers Big Sisters and applied online thinking maybe I would hear back in the next few weeks! I got the call the next day to setup a time to meet with one of the ladies who matches adults with kids. Instantly she had something in mind for me if I was open to one of their challenging cases which of course I said sure why not...I couldn't have asked for a better pairing than I got with the sisters I took on...think they have had just as big impact on my life as I did on theirs :)
Tonight I took the girls to the Sidney YMCA...not 100% how they would respond to it. We get there and they start
playing table tennis or ping pong as I recall it lol :) Then we head to the gym and play some one on one...I had no idea these girls had game when it came to basketball! We were there nearly 2 hours and already they are counting down till the next time we can go to the YMCA...it made my day seeing the smiles on their faces as they are shooting hoops!!
