So yesterday I took somethings to a friend who has kids, a video, some glow in the dark stars, and a book I thought the kids might like and spent a little extra time just hanging out. Today I have given myself a gift of going easy on me, actually let myself have half a day off without guilt and rested. I took my assistant to a long lunch instead of working.
It has been interesting to think of gifts that don't involve money (the things for the kids had been things I had found when cleaning out the upstairs, gifts I had bought but had never given...) and the idea of giving to myself along with others. I find myself being more mindful!
