Still no one in the house but me and my honey. Drank some coffee, read the paper and chatted through the morning. Text my friend Linda seeing if she wanted to go shopping with me. Needed a few things. She offered to drive and off we went.
We stopped for lunch; at which time she had discovered she had left her bank card at home on her desk. After rummaging through her purse and discovering that it really wasn't in the dark hole we call our purse, she allowed me to buy her lunch. I told her it was no big deal. That our shopping day didn't need to end because she left her card at home. I told her she could just pay me back tomorrow whatever she spent today. I know she didn't buy as many things as she would have, but she did buy a few.
My gift, making sure my friend enjoyed her day of shopping even though she thought it was ruined. Plus a yummy lunch and girl conversation.
All the natives came home around 5 p.m. and the house is full of people and noise again. A familiar sound that feels good. Family around is a great thing and a little break from them is good too.
